The applications of RFID / AIDC in logistics

Terug naar traffic & transportation

Automatic identification has long been a staple in logistic processes. 1D and 2D barcodes are still the most obvious identification technology to register transactional data. However, the need for increased visibility in this rapidly developing digital world requires more. Only applying barcodes is often insufficient.

Using RFID, you can read more items simultaneously – without the need to physically see the label. RFID works with manual scans, as well as fully automatic scans at the cargo ports, conveyor belt or on a forklift truck. This identification, combined with localisation and statuses such as temperature or extreme shocks, provide important information. This offers accurate inventory data, as well as insights into status, location and processes. These insights help you provide more transparency to your clients and help you implement data-driven process optimizations.
